He Just Left: Now I’m Going to Turn Myself into a Fly Girl

For those of you who have no idea what a “Fly Girl” is, they were the hottest dancers this side of Saturn, and they performed on the show, “In Living Color” in the 90’s. I have always loved dancing and these girls really had it goin’ on! I mean, their bodies were SLAMMIN’ and they really had some SKILLZ!!

Over the last two months leading up to hubby leaving, I have really let myself go. Though I won’t be featured on “My 600-LB Life” any time soon, I feel like a 600 lb-er inside. Hubby’s cravings for having this food or that food one last time became MY cravings for this food or that food one last time. And since alcohol isn’t allowed in the part of the world he’s in…well, I don’t think you need me to connect all those dots.

Anyhoo-suffice it to say that I don’t recognize myself in the mirror right now. I see a Big Asian Lady looking back at me and I think, “Who the heck are YOU???”. Ah, well.

Despite the hope my title probably inspires, I’m just going to take things slow. I still have all the health issues that make me feel like I’m dying although I’m pretty much alive and “well”. So first, I’m working on my diet. I’m following the 80/20 principle Mark Sisson promotes in The Primal Blueprint. I have always loved the recipes and philosophy of The Primal Blueprint and in this exact moment, I’m wondering why I ever got away from it??! The idea is that 80% of the time, you strictly adhere to the meal plan and 20%, you can have a little sumpin-sumpin not on the list. In a nutshell, The Primal Blueprint follows a paleo plan, which works well for me since I’m allergic to gluten and sugar.

I’ve also been meditating more. Just 10 minutes. I love Emily Fletcher of Ziva Mind. I haven’t enrolled in her classes (refer to my previous blog about quitting my job!! For those of you who don’t know, “No Job  = No Money”…It’s a total bummer), but I found her on Udemy.com. My crystals are coming in handy at this time. I’m having an interesting experience with a couple of them, which I will share with you in another blog.

Alcohol is still in my house, but once it’s gone, I won’t replace. Well, I’m saying that, but we shall see what happens, haha, lol, rofl, etc.

I’ve been working really hard getting my research papers completed for college ahead of time. In another week or so, I’ll use the time I spent on writing papers learning from the courses I found on Udemy instead. I also want to complete my first sweater, which I hope will be WAY TOO BIG by the time I’m done with it!! I want to work with polymer clay and paint. I’ll try to remember the kids while I’m doing all this.

For workouts, I’m going to ease myself into it. I have a little machine that I LOVE, but not enough to use it, like, ever. But I’m going to change that and start using it this coming week. For those of you thinking, “Why wait? Do it today!”, the answer is, I’m lazy and don’t feel like it. It’s going to take ALL weekend and some of that alcohol to gear myself up for it.

So that’s that. My plan of baby steps to get my body and Spirit on the right track. I’ve caught myself up on my Bible daily devotional and I’ve been going to bed BEFORE midnight every night, so that’s been a total win. I’m looking forward to seeing what I’m like in seven months 🙂
