ESFP Personalities: The Entertainer

For all those ESFPs out there: “Here’s lookin’ at you, Kid!” Settle in with your popcorn and learn about the ESFP Personality: The Entertainer! ESFPs are Extroverted- Sensing- Feeling- Perceiving. ESFPs make up 11% of the population. Of this number, 64% are females and 36% are males.

ESFP personality traits

You might be an ESFP or Entertainer if: You must be the center of attention, are outgoing and love being spontaneous! ESFPs grab the bull by the horns and laugh while they do it. They capture the attention of everyone in the room with their exuberance and enthusiasm for life. They are great improvisers and adapt easily to any situation. The “S” (Sensing) of ESFPs means this personality type loves to have hands-on experiences, learning through all of their senses. Concrete learning works best for them, contrary to abstract ideas.

Strengths and weaknesses

It stands to reason that ESFPs will possess the qualities that most of us are drawn to. They are observant and generous with compliments to others. ESFPs love receiving attention as much as giving it and love to turn every life experience into an adventure to be had. They have an aversion to conflict because they would rather draw you in with their people skills  than push you out. These easy-going personality types readily accept others and love putting their plans into action.

It’s no surprise that some of the ESFP’s strengths contribute to their weaknesses. For example, ESFPs prefer conflict avoidance to conflict resolution. When you’re a people-pleaser, it’s definitely not pleasing to engage in conflict. Another potential drawback to this personality type is that ESFPs are bored easily. They may engage in substance abuse or risky behavior to liven up any monotony creeping into their lives. And because they love to be the moment, it’s difficult for ESFPs to plan for the future.

More about ESFPs

ESFPs all about creating experiences, not only for themselves but for those around them. Predictably, many ESFPs are world-famous because of their contributions to art and entertainment. Unlike ESTP’s, ESFP’s are sensitive to others and promote harmony. Although they may lean towards being materialistic (they are Sensory People, after all!) they have an appreciation for art and creativity. This fun-loving “E” (Extroverted) type can draw even the most introverted person out of their comfort zones. And if they can’t, it’s no big deal: they’ll step into your comfort zone, and mine, and his, and hers and theirs! And we love them for it!
